Elk Retrofit Data Bus Hub for Alarm Engine (ELKAEDBHR)
Product information summary

About the product
The ELK-AEDBHR splits the Elk Alarm Engine RS-485 data bus output into 4 managed branches for retrofit installs where an older existing panel being replaced by an Alarm Engine Control has multiple homerun 4 conductor keypad/data wires available. Each branch of the “active” RS-485 data bus can have 2 additional parallel home run cables for a total of 8 available home runs—expanding the available hardware options for antiquated systems—additionally, terminating jumpers at the end of each branch ensure proper operation and supervision of end-of-line devices with minimal electrical interference or risk of equipment damage.
Package includes mounting glides for ELK-SWB boxes. Works with standard 4 conductor home run wire off existing retrofit panels. Removeable terminal blocks with 4 position elevator screw terminals allow for simplified wiring outside of the enclosure. Maximum two AEDBHR hubs per Alarm Engine Control, hubs cannot be branch connected, used as an extender or remote repeater. Cannot be used remotely, mounts only within the Alarm Engine main enclosure. Compatible only with ELK Alarm Engine Control systems.
