Extend the wireless range of your alarm system with the PG9920 wireless repeater from DSC. This device receives messages from other wireless PowerG devices and transmits them to the control panel. It has wall and case tamper prevention for an added level of protection against the elements and potential vandalism.
To preserve energy, the PG9920 measures communication quality continuously and automatically sets transmission power to the lowest setting needed for reliable communication. While it is AC powered, the repeater does have a backup battery that can last up to 48 hours in case of a power outage.
A visible link quality LED on the unit monitors connection to make sure an optimized signal is provided. It will also indicate a power failure.
As a PowerG device, the repeater and range extender takes advantage of the platforms many features. Multi-channel, Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum allows it to jump channels to avoid interference from other devices. Combined with TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) technology it allows for multiple users to access a single frequency without overloading the channel as well as preventing tampering. Adaptive Transmission Power also helps to assist in battery life preservation. It also gives devices high transmission ranges for reliable communication within up to 2km within a line of sight.
