The Milestone Husky X8 is a high performing server class network video recorder designed for the high-end market. It offers extreme reliability with component, storage and application redundancy, ensuring continuous uninterrupted operation. Leveraging the XProtect video management software, hardware accelerated video processing and Western Digital Purple™ HDD technology, the unit offers a proven capacity of 780 cameras with continues recording, and 300 cameras with server-side motion detection.

High-performance NVR hardware platform

Based on an Intel® Xeon® E3 CPU the Husky X8 offers unparalleled camera capacity with a proven performance of 780 cameras* with continues recording. The onboard Intel® Iris™ Pro 4-core GPU provides video decoding capacity for server-side motion detection, making Husky X8 capable of supporting 300 cameras* with server-side VMD.

Eight disk bays supporting 4TB, 8TB or 10TB Western Digital Purple™ drives offers a recording rate of 1,8 Gbit/s.

Reliable

Husky X8 is designed to ensure continuous uninterrupted operation through redundancy on component level, storage level and application level.

Built with server-grade components where all critical components are duplicated. Dual SSD Windows OS and VMS disks ensure a fast re-boot and that critical system data is not lost, while video data is protected by RAID 5/10.

Additional layer of redundancy is available with XProtect hot/cold failover configuration, reducing the risk for interruptions to the minimum.

Extendable storage

The unit's internal storage can easily be complemented with external storage environments, such as SANs using high speed 10 Gbit/s connections. Its Converged Network Adapter also enables direct connection of storage arrays via high speed iSCSI or FCoE connections.

The XProtect VMS archive handling manages optimal use of internal and external storage and ensures that video is always online and instantly accessible.
