The Aeotec SmartThings Water Leak Sensor is a Zigbee 3.0 device that works with SmartThings or similar Zigbee enabled systems to detect water leaks and floods. Leak sensors should be placed strategically in areas like bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, near sinks or water using appliances.
Water damage can be devastating so catching leaks and flooding as early as possible can help mitigate the damage. When combined with a smart home system like SmartThings your customers can get an alert anywhere in the world in case of a problem.
Take it a step further and add an automatic water shut-off valve and your customers will be able to turn off the water as soon as the leak is detected which could stop the source of water hours or days before they might be able to get home or to the cottage to shut off the water manually.
Aeotec is now manufacturing SmartThings hubs and sensors that work with the SmartThings app.
